Speaking at a seminar on Hajj and boosting unity among Muslims in Jakarta, Indonesia, Ayatollah Taskhiri said Muslims should make optimum use of Hajj because Muslims of all ethnic backgrounds take part in this annual assembly.
According to the public relations office of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), he added, "This is an occasion in which Muslims are expected to showcase their unity, solidarity and might to the rest of the world."
Also speaking at the seminar, Qazi Asgar, Iranian Supreme Leaders representative in Hajj affairs, said Indonesia is the biggest Muslim country in the world and for that reason Tehran is prepared to extend cooperation in all spheres with Jakarta.
He added, "The two nations can take advantage of their experiences to help boost unity in the Muslim world."
The first international seminar on Hajj was organized by Iranian Embassys Cultural Attaché in Jakarta. Representatives, religious leaders and officials from Iran and South East Asian countries attended the two-day event on Oct. 2-3.
